Osteo-Thai was created by David Lutt and Arno L’hermitte, two French osteopaths in love with Thai massage.

Dave has studied extensively with David Lutt alongside ongoing studies in Cranio-Sacral Biodynamics and Shintai Shiatsu, also osteopathic modalities.

Osteopathy rebalance’s skeletal, muscular, and fascial structures, with very gentle and precise tissue manipulation and joint mobilisation.

Thai Yoga Massage is embedded within Eastern health philosophy, focusing on the energy body with applied yoga long lever stretches and acu-pressure points to improve circulation and release tensions.

This combination brings an incredibly holistic approach to bodywork.

Traditional Thai Yoga Massage has a reputation of being very strong and painful. This unfortunately is because of the inexperience of the therapist.
Yes, it can be very deep and intense, but given with sensitivity and gentleness, this intensity is very beneficial and calming.

A massage session is always tailored to the client. Not everyone is flexible and some people may have very limited mobility or chronic condition.
I regularly treat clients with chronic conditions such as:

  • arthritis
  • spinal injuries
  • lower back pain
  • sciatica
  • frozen shoulder
  • neck issues
  • stress and emotional overload

I also have many regular elderly clients, including a 93 year old lady who I have seen for many years with severe mobility issues. Equally, clients can be  dancers, yoga teachers and sports professionals.

A Thai Yoga Massage / Osteo-Thai treatment takes place on a futon on the floor. Unlike western massage the receiver is fully clothed in loose casual clothing. (T-shirt, joggers, pants or shorts)

A treatment can be for 1 hour, 90 minutes or 2 hours. For a fully integrated massage, at least 90 mins is generally necessary for the body to come into a profound state of relaxation.

This is not to say however that an hour session isn’t hugely impactful. It is  just generally more focused on a certain area of the body.

Receiving Osteo-Thai is deeply and profoundly relaxing. It is a therapeutic dance that weaves applied yoga with gentle joint and tissue mobilisation. This integrated approach encourages the receiver to:

  • Release habitual holding patterns from years of accumulated stress and tension.
  • Restore natural mobility to joints and tissues that have become restricted
  • Reset the nervous system to a more balanced, regulated state of being
  • Reconnect with deep calm and grounding that emerges from the body’s return to its natural equilibrium.
